OSU women's basketball: Cowgirls overwhelm Northeastern State

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State collected 22 steals and 53 rebounds Monday night during its 84-47 women's basketball exhibition victory over Northeastern State before 2,267 fans in Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Both teams shot 35 percent from the field, but the Cowgirls' decisive advantage in other areas played a role in routing the Division II RiverHawks. Northeastern, 1-1 in the preseason, had 31 turnovers and managed 33 rebounds.

OSU, 2-0 in exhibition games, had the game in hand by halftime, leading 42-22.

Four players scored in double figures for Oklahoma State, led by Brittany Atkins' 12 points. Liz Donohoe added eight points and a game-best 13 rebounds.

Tiffany Bias had a game-high seven assists to complement 11 points for OSU, which opens its regular season at 11 a.m. Friday against Lamar in Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Che'Ron Lewis had a game-high 14 points for Northeastern State.
