STILLWATER — Oklahoma State snatched one of its biggest wins in recent seasons Saturday, knocking off previously unbeaten Iowa State inside arguably the rowdiest venue in the Big 12.
And the Cowgirls got a huge performance from their biggest leader, as Tiffany Bias finished with 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting and 5-of-6 from the free throw line to go along with four assists, two steals and just one turnover.
Bias talked with The Oklahoman Monday about that game, the Cowgirls' upcoming contest against TCU and beginning her final semester of college.
Where does that Iowa State win rank during your career at OSU?
“It's probably one of the top 3 in my career. I think that it was a great win. We lost one at home (to West Virginia on Jan. 4), so we had to go back and get two on the road. We were very mentally focused for that game and we had a great (scouting report) and we executed it.”
What allowed you to have such an effective offensive night Saturday?
“Iowa State, they really play (defense) off stats, and they're gonna leave you open. So Coach (Jim Littell) really harped on us about us knocking down shots and hitting those midrange shots that we usually do.”
Coach Littell has changed up the starting lineup the last two games, replacing Kendra Suttles with Brittany Atkins. How does that smaller lineup change things right out of the gate?
