OSU/A&M Board of Regents to consider next phase of OSU's Athletic Village
During a Friday meeting, OSU officials plan to seek board approval to hire an engineering consultant and a construction manager for the construction of a new track facility.
ARDMORE — Oklahoma State University officials will seek approval Friday to move forward with the next step of the university's Athletic Village.
The Board of Regents for Oklahoma State University and the A&M Colleges meets at 10 a.m. Friday at the OSU Institute for Agricultural Biosciences, 3210 Sam Noble Parkway, in Ardmore.
OSU officials also plan to seek board approval to hire an engineering consultant and a construction manager for the construction of a new track facility.
The building would be a part of the university's long-delayed Athletic Village, a group of proposed athletic facilities that would be located just north of Boone Pickens Stadium. The university has begun construction on the Sherman Smith Training Center, an indoor practice facility that will be a large piece of the village.
University officials announced plans to move forward with more than $200 million in projects in November 2005. Those proposed projects included new facilities for track, tennis, soccer and other sports.
