OSU's Hill named Big 12 preseason newcomer of year

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma State University's Tyreek Hill has been voted the 2014 Big 12 preseason newcomer of the year in football.

The conference made the announcement Wednesday.

Hill transferred from Garden City Community College in Kansas, where he made 32 catches for 532 yards and six touchdowns as a sophomore. He also had 101 carries for 659 yards and five scores.

Hill is also a member of the Cowboys' track team. After enrolling at OSU in January, Hill won the 200 meters and placed second in the 60 meters at the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championship this spring.
