Nationwide DUI arrests Here's a small sampling of various DUI arrests of college football players in 2010. (Keep in mind every DUI arrest has different surrounding circumstances and the laws and regulations vary from state to state.) Ricky Drake, Nevada: The kicker was suspended for the first two games of 2010 and had 50 percent of his scholarship stripped. Michael Buchanan, Illinois: The defensive lineman was suspended for two games after a Sept. 5 arrest for DUI. Brandon Hogan, West Virginia: The cornerback was suspended indefinitely after a mid-September arrest for DUI, his second run-in with the law in five months. He missed one game and returned against LSU on Sept. 25. Frankie Hammond Jr., Florida: Urban Meyer took the receiver's scholarship away and he was forced to pay for this semester of school. His missed the first two games of the season before returning against Tennessee on Sept. 18. Mossis Madu, Oklahoma: The running back missed one game after a DUI arrest during the summer. Paying the price Here's a look at the punishment handed out by OSU coach Mike Gundy for recent brushes with the law by current players: Victor Johnson: The Cowboys safety played but did not start in OSU's opener against Washington State after his DUI arrest last June. He was also arrested for obstructing an officer last July. Johnson spent at least two weeks during the beginning of OSU's fall camp on a stair climbing machine before returning to practice in mid-August. Jamie Blatnick: Blatnick missed one game after pleading guilty to misdemeanor assault stemming from a fight with former Cowboy Stephen Denning in August. He spent at least three weeks on a stair climbing machine during OSU's preseason practices. Compiled by Brandon Chatmon
