ARLINGTON, Texas — Perrish Cox won’t play in his final game as a member of the Oklahoma State football team.

The senior cornerback from Waco, Texas will miss the 74th annual Cotton Bowl Classic after violating team rules, according to an OSU release. The release states that OSU will have no further comment on the matter.

It is believed Cox’s suspension is related to curfew violations this week in Dallas.

On his Facebook wall, Cox wrote: “I’m officially not playing in the bowl game.”

In response to Cox’s comment, Dez Bryant wrote: “call me...” then a bit later “for the whole game....thats way to much.... a cowboy reminder is enough... not the whole game.”

Cox’s absence makes an already thin cornerback position even thinner. The Cowboys’ third cornerback for much of the season, Andrew McGee, will miss the bowl game due to a broken neck.

Senior Maurice Gray, redshirt freshman Brodrick Brown and true freshman Andrae May will likely see increased playing time with Cox out.

OSU takes on Ole Miss in the Cotton Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas at 1 p.m. on Jan. 2.
