OU athletics: Athletic director Joe Castiglione, 29 coaches get extended contracts or raises

The University of Oklahoma Board of Regents voted Wednesday to extend the contracts and/or give raises to 29 coaches as well as athletic director Joe Castiglione and strength coach Jerry Schmidt. A look at the notable contract modifications:

Joe Castiglione, Athletic Director

Contract extended to June 30, 2020. Salary increased by $100,000 to $1.03 million.

Patty Gasso, softball

Contract extended through June 30, 2019.

KJ Kindler, women’s gymnastics

Contract extended through June 30, 2020. Salary increased by $20,000 to $220,000. Annual stay bonus of $25,000 beginning Feb. 1, 2015 added as well as annual increase of $10,000

Lon Kruger, men’s basketball

Contract extended through June 30, 2020. Salary increased by $200,000 to $2.2 million. Annual stay bonus increased by $250,000 to $550,000 for 2014-15 seasons and 2015-16 seasons.

Sherri Coale, women’s basketball

Contract extended to June 30, 2020. Salary increased $40,000 to $1.1 million. Annual raise adjusted $20,000 to $50,000 annually beginning July 1, 2015.

John Roddick, men’s tennis

Contract extended through June 30, 2019. Salary increased $40,200 to $175,000.

Jerry Schmidt, Director of Sports Enhancement*

Contract extended through May 31, 2015. Salary increased by $30,000 to $300,000.
