OU basketball notebook: Foul trouble derails Ryan Spangler during loss to Kansas

Embiid is the only 7-foot player on Kansas' roster.

The Sooners made all four free throws to go up by four points, but they scored just one more free throw the rest of the half.

Especially on the Kansas side, there were plenty of players in Wednesday night's game that figure to be picked in the NBA Draft on June 26.

Could one of those players wind up with the Thunder?

Both Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti and owner Clay Bennett were in the Lloyd Noble Center to watch the game.

The pair were joined by several other NBA representatives, including Charlotte general manager Rich Cho, who worked under Presti with the Thunder until taking the GM job in Portland in 2010. Cho then moved on to Charlotte the next season.

Cleveland, Houston and New Orleans also had representatives at the game.

After dropping their first Big 12 home game against Kansas, the Sooners will have just as big of a challenge Saturday.

Oklahoma hosts Iowa State at 11 a.m. on ESPNU.

The Cyclones beat Baylor on Tuesday to improve to 14-0 overall and 2-0 in the Big 12.

The Sooners split with the Cyclones last season, with each team winning at home.
