Oklahoma junior forward Romero Osby scored a career high 19 points in an 84-62 loss to Kansas Wednesday night at Allen Fieldhouse.
Over the past seven games Osby has averaged 16.1 points.
“Ro is doing a great job,” said OU coach Lon Kruger. “He's getting better each game. But he had some opportunities where he didn't have the base he wants to have (before shooting). He'll keep getting better at that. He's getting better every week. It's fun to watch him grow.”
PLEDGER'S FT STREAK ENDS
Steven Pledger missed his first free throw in conference play. Pledger entered Wednesday's game 24-of-24 at the line in Big 12 games.
“I don't even know why I missed it to be honest,” Pledger said. “I guess it's supposed to end (at some point), but I don't look at it that way.”
Pledger is shooting 96.4 percent at the line in conference play, nearly 90 percent for the season. He's missed only seven free throws all season.
ZONE ONCE AGAIN IS EFFECTIVE
One key to the Sooners' 12-2 run late in the first half, which closed the gap to 34-31 by halftime, was that OU's 2-3 zone was effective.
