“We gave up an offensive board or two out of it, but for the most part it changed the rhythm a little bit,” Kruger said. “We were in foul trouble. It gave us a chance to hide some guys. We didn't play it all that much, but it served its purpose.”

Kansas improved to 65-4 at home in conference games in the Bill Self era. The Jayhawks are 5-0 at home in league play this season. If they win their final four conference home games, they will finish unbeaten at home for the fifth time under Self, the fourth time the past five seasons.

After failing to score in double figures for the first time in two months, Andrew Fitzgerald scored 14 against the Jayhawks. Fitzgerald has scored in double figures in 15 of OU's last 16 games. ... Tyler Neal no longer is in the primary rotation but supplied his most productive game since Bedlam with four points and one rebound in seven minutes. ... KU has won 11 consecutive meetings against OU. The Sooners' last win in Lawrence was nearly two decades ago (1993) under former coach Billy Tubbs.
