Oklahoma basketball coach Lon Kruger said Saturday's win at Texas Tech was his team's most complete effort of the season.

While Kruger was talking about both sides of the ball, the big step forward came on the defensive end.

The Sooners have been improving on defense over the last five games.

“We've put a lot of time on it in practice, and I think their awareness of what each other's doing and the confidence is improved,” Kruger said. “Better five-on-five efforts instead of five one-on-ones out there defensively.”

OU was particularly effective with its trap against the Red Raiders while also being solid in the frontcourt.

“We've done some different things structurally in terms of more congestion and more compact to a degree to try to help,” Kruger said.

CLARK: ‘GET ROWDY'

As Oklahoma went through practice a little more than 24 hours before meeting Oklahoma State at 8 p.m. Monday in the first Bedlam game of the season, T-shirts hung on every spectator seat in Lloyd Noble Center.

“I'm looking for a lot of Sooners fans in here to get rowdy,” senior forward Cam Clark said. “We're really looking forward to it. It's going to be loud in here.”
