Oklahoma sophomore guard Isaiah Cousins scored 12 points in Oklahoma's 78-56 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Thursday.

It was Cousins' fifth consecutive game of double figures after never scoring more than 10 in any game last season.

Cousins is averaging 14 points and shooting 50 percent from the floor and even better, 8 of 15, from behind the 3-point line, during the streak.

“Isaiah's really been more consistent,” Sooners coach Lon Kruger said. “He's making good plays for others, activity on the boards is good.”

HIELD: ICE ‘NOT MY STYLE'

Thursday's game was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. but was moved to a 2 p.m. tipoff due to the winter storm that moved through Thursday afternoon.

Sooners sophomore guard Buddy Hield, who is from the Bahamas, wasn't appreciative of the winter weather.

“It's not my style,” Hield said.

The time change disrupted OU's typical game-day routine, as players went to class in the morning before arriving for the game in the afternoon. The team didn't have a pregame meal or go through a typical walk-through.

“I thought our guys handled that pretty well,” Kruger said. “They got off to a pretty good start, got a margin early.

“I think it's good to be challenged by something other than routine from time to time.”

The Sooners return home Saturday to take on Tulsa.
