NORMAN—Even with all of the inside talent added in the 2014 signing class, Oklahoma made 7-foot center Akolda Manyang its top target for 2015.
Sunday, the Sooners got their man, when Manyang committed to OU, becoming the Sooners' first commit for 2015.
Manyang, from Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College, is the cousin of former Sooners center Longar Longar.
He’s already spent plenty of time in Norman since his school year ended.
Manyang averaged 8.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.8 blocks per game as a freshman, helping Indian Hills to a 34-3 record and the NJCAA national title game.
Manyang chose the Sooners over Arizona State and Minnesota.
His addition continues Oklahoma’s transformation inside.
Interior play was a big issue for the Sooners last season even as they finished second in the Big 12 and made a second consecutive NCAA Tournament appearance.See this story on twitter.com
