OU chat with Ryan Aber: Talking Dorial Green-Beckham, new uniforms and stadium expansion

Ryan Aber 11:01 a.m. All right, it's 11 a.m. and time to get started. If you have questions about DGB, the Sooners new unis, the stadium renovations or anything else OU related, get them in

Guest 11:01 a.m. Why would OU or Green take the chance? Green could go Division 2 and go pro next year instead of sitting out a year and playing again. And for OU it will look really bad if green gets in trouble again.
Ryan Aber 11:06 a.m. There's a risk-reward on both ends. For DGB, there's the thought of going D2—as he was initially thought to be leaning toward—and then jump to the NFL after one season. For OU, there's the risk that there could be a recurrence of what happened at Mizzou. On the plus side for both sides, though, there is plenty. For DGB, going to OU would give him a chance to better his reputation if he can stay (likely for two years) and prove he's turned things around. For OU, it would give them a dynamic wide receiver choice. There's no doubt DGB has talent overflowing. He just hasn't always shown the smarts to take full advantage of it. It's a risky proposition, especially on the OU side, but it's a risk OU's coaches are willing to entertain
Howling Wolf 11:09 a.m. Any updates on Frank Shannon? How likely is to be playing in the fall and if he can't play how much of a impact will that be on the Sooner defense?
Ryan Aber 11:11 a.m. The process is still ongoing with Frank Shannon. He was around campers during OU's recent camps, which would seem to be a solid sign that there's a chance he could be back. As for what would happen if he wasn't able to play, Jordan Evans would be hazily leaned on at MLB. The depth behind Evans, though, would be virtually nonexistent.
Hubbz 11:11 a.m. Could be that DGB realizes that he needs to clean up his act and sees OU as a catalyst for the future? Any takers?
Ryan Aber 11:13 a.m. I think there's a good chance that's the case. Rehabbing his image, and doing it at a prominent program, could give DGB's image a big-time boost.
Old fart 11:13 a.m. Fancy uniforms! WRs with baggage! What's next, dogs and cats living together!?
Ryan Aber 11:14 a.m. Taking DGB out of it, it's certainly been a head-turning few weeks for OU first with the stadium expansion announcement, then the uniforms. Adding DGB on top of it, and things just get wilder.
