OU fans marvel at new Dallas Cowboys Stadium

ARLINGTON, Texas — Their first impressions were all the same.

Big.

That was the consensus from OU fans at Saturday’s game against BYU at the new Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

"I just can’t believe how big it is,” said Max Daughtey, a 1979 OU grad who attended the game with his wife Andrea. "The TV screen out there is huge. I can’t believe the size of it.”

Apparently everything is really bigger in Texas. And getting to the top where the Daughteys were sitting is no easy feat.

"It’s a long walk up,” said Max Daughtey. "And then when you’re four rows from the top it’s even longer.”

The videoboard extends from 20-yard line to 20-yard line, and most fans seemed to leave Cowboys Stadium impressed most with the massiveness of the unit.

"It’s amazing,” said Dante Clark, 21, of Dallas.
