NORMAN — Barbara McClurkin of Norman is a two-time Okie Derby flying champion who must get up to speed, literally, to compete in the 2009 Air Race Classic.
"The Okie Derby is a precision race where you estimate your time and fuel use before you even know the course,” said McClurkin, who won the race in 2006 and 2007 and finished third last year. "But this race coming up is all about speed....
