OU Football: Could West Virginia be playing possum?

Did any other Big 12 team that won last week look any shakier than West Virginia?

The Mountaineers fell behind William & Mary before rallying in the second half to win by a touchdown. Winning by a touchdown against a lower-division opponent isn’t exactly cause to celebrate.

Unless you’re Oklahoma, right?

The Sooners open Big 12 play Saturday against the Mountaineers, and conventional wisdom says OU will roll.

But as our Ryan Aber points out in this OU Update, the Sooners have a good reason to overlook the Mountaineers’ so-so opener. It wasn’t so long ago that OU had its own so-so opener against Utah State before a big Week 2 game against Florida State. Lots of pundits thought the Seminoles would come to Norman and beat the Sooners.

Instead, the Sooners rolled.

So, is there reason for concern this week? Check out our OU Update for more on West Virginia.
