Louisiana-Monroe coach Todd Berry dismissed junior wide receiver Colby Harper from the team last week for violating team rules.
Harper appeared in 20 games — with 13 starts — over the past two seasons, recording 56 catches for 594 yards and four touchdowns during his career.
“Rules are put in place to protect the team and individuals associated with the team and we will always act accordingly,” Berry said.
Harper was the Warhawks' fourth-leading receiver in 2012, when he caught 29 passes for 303 yards and two touchdowns in eight games. He missed five ULM games at the end of the regular season with an injury.
Louisiana-Monroe still comes to Norman with a strong passing arsenal, though. Senior quarterback Kolton Browning, who threw for 3,049 yards and 29 touchdowns in 2012, has senior receivers Je'Ron Hamm and Tavarese Maye, who combined for 1,527 yards and 10 scores a year ago.
The Warhawks are coming off an 8-5 campaign in which they made their first-ever bowl appearance.
