OU football: Norman police close to finishing investigation into Joe Mixon incident

Norman Police are scheduled to interview the alleged victim Thursday as they continue their investigation into an incident involving Oklahoma freshman running back Joe Mixon.

A Norman Police official said investigators were "optimistic" that the case would be turned over to Cleveland County District Attorney Greg Mashburn by the end of the week but that wasn't set in stone.

Thursday’s interview was part of the Norman Police Department’s investigation into an incident that occurred in late July at Pickleman’s Gourmet Cafe just north of OU’s campus.

An altercation there around 2:30 a.m. on July 25 led to Amelia Rae Molitor, 20, being struck in the face. Molitor alleges that Mixon hit her. She said she broke four bones.

Mixon’s attorney, Kevin Finlay, said in a statement that his client had done nothing wrong.
