Lepak, a walk-on transfer from Colorado State, injured his ankle on the second day of practice and is currently wearing a protective boot.

Other players taking snaps at center include left tackle Trent Williams and right guard Stephen Good.

Coach Bob Stoops singled out true freshman cornerback Demontre Hurst as a player who's been impressive and is likely to see playing time this fall.

“Demontre Hurst has been outstanding,” Stoops said Monday. “Really, he's been as good a young guy as we've ever brought in here. Really doing well.”

Hurst was a late find for the Sooners during the recruiting season. Hurst had been committed to Oklahoma State, but switched his commitment to OU days before signing day.

Freshman safety Kevin Brent has not been able to participate in workouts so far because of a shoulder injury. ... After leaving the team for personal reasons in the spring, kicker Matt Moreland has rejoined the Sooners; Moreland handled OU's kickoffs last season, and will compete with redshirt freshman Tress Way for kickoff duties. ... The Sooners went full pads Monday for the first time this preseason, and today will endure their first of four August two-a-day practices.
