OU football notebook: Belldozer makes cameo

The Belldozer package, which includes double tight ends and a pair of fullbacks helping clear the way for quarterback Blake Bell, had been marginalized this season.

“I wanna get at least 10,” Tapper said then. “It's a goal.”

Tapper has been a disruptive force up front but hadn't made much of an impact in the sack department until Saturday.

Tapper had a pair of sacks in the win over TCU, upping his total to 2.5 for the season.

His first was for a loss of 10 yards on the Horned Frogs' first drive of the game. His other came late in the second quarter on a third-down play.

No other Sooner has more than 1.5 sacks.

Tapper finished with five tackles and has 23 for the season, fourth best on the team.

Brennan Clay on the upcoming game against Texas. The Sooners have won three consecutive games in the series, and a win would give them their fifth winning streak of four or more games in series history.
