Despite not working out during Monday’s Pro Day in Norman, tight end Jermaine Gresham still found a way to leave an impression.

Gresham was one of the receivers catching passes from Sam Bradford. Gresham teamed up with NFL free agent Josh Reed and OU teammates Adron Tennell, Chris Brown and Brody Eldridge to catch passes.

Bradford had just one throw that looked off target, but Gresham still was able to reach back and catch the ball that was thrown behind him.

Gresham didn’t show any effects from the knee injury that kept him out all of last season.

Despite missing the year, Gresham is still expected to be picked in the first round, though he said he wouldn’t be disappointed if he didn’t.

"Not at all. That’s up to the teams,” Gresham said. "I’m just anxious to get somewhere and start playing because I’ve been out all year. It doesn’t matter where I go or where I’m picked. As long as I get an opportunity, I’ll be happy.”

OU coach Bob Stoops said Gresham helped his stock with the performance.

"I don’t think there’s any question,” Stoops said. "There’s an awful lot of people that are highly interested in him, and he caught the ball great and ran well, which you knew he would.”

McCoy abstains from bench press
OU’s other possible No. 1 pick, McCoy, was planning to bench press during Sam Bradford’s pro day. McCoy wasn’t pleased with the 23 reps of 225 pounds he put up during the NFL Scouting Combine.

McCoy, however, decided recently he wasn’t going to bench, and instead was a spectator during Bradford’s big day.

"I was advised I didn’t have to do it,” McCoy said. "What I was told by scouts is that it doesn’t really correlate to how you play because some of the best players ever didn’t do that many.
