Oklahoma verbal commitment Brandon Carter, who quarterbacked Euless Trinity to the Texas Class 5A Division I state title game, reportedly is taking an official visit to TCU this weekend.

Recruited to OU as a defensive back, Carter apparently has been enticed by the idea of playing receiver at TCU, according to Rivals.com. Carter, however, still remains committed to OU. Carter was named to the 2010 RivalsHigh All-American first team as a utility player.

THREE SOONERS TO ENROLL EARLY

Three members of the Sooners' 2011 recruiting class — quarterback Kendal Thompson, running back Brandon Williams and defensive end Marquis Anderson — plan to enroll early at OU this week to participate in spring practice.

Thompson, the son of former OU quarterback Charles Thompson, missed six weeks of his senior season with a knee injury but returned for Southmoore High School's final two games.

Williams had a spectacular prep career in Texas, rushing for almost 2,500 yards and 33 touchdowns during Brookshire Royal's playoff run.

Both Thompson and Williams played in the Under Armour All-American game.

Anderson helped lead Cibolo Steele to the Texas 5A Division II state championship, and participated in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
