‘Pooh’ thinks back
Wide receivers coach Jay Norvell says its weird referring to receiver Adron Tennell as anything but "Pooh.” He couldn’t, however, remember how and when the senior earned the childish moniker. Probably for good reason. Tennell got the name from his grandfather when he was in elementary school.

"I used to stay down the street from him, and everytime the TV show came on, I used to walk over there and watch it with him,” Tennell said. "And he’s just like, Pooh’s here, so switch and put the channel on Pooh.”

Former Sooner excels
Former Sooner Keith Nichol helped his offense at Michigan State win a scrimmage last week by completing 17 of 26 passes for 241 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. His day also included a 52-yard score to Spartan receiver Chris D. Rucker.

Nichol, a Lowell, Mich. native, transferred to Michigan State in May 2008 after being beaten out by Sam Bradford for OU’s starting quarterback spot in 2007.

Murray looking for more receptions
Mossis Madu won’t be the only running back with a lot of receptions in 2009.
