In the final minute of Bedlam’s first half, the Sooners faced a third-and-goal play from the OSU 5-yard line.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Trevor Knight took the snap and scrambled, looking for an open receiver, before trying to score with his legs. He tried to dive ahead near the sideline and didn’t score, instead separating his non-throwing shoulder.

“They told me I needed to protect myself,” Knight said of his coaches’ reaction to the play. “You’ve got to protect your body and that was total self-enforced on my part just trying to make a play.

“That’s football. Things are going to happen but just try and protect myself a little bit more.”
