Coach Bob Stoops said Ryan Broyles will not return kickoffs. "Not that he couldn't," Stoops said. "I'd rather not see him get blown up on kickoffs. That can happen on occasion. I want some bigger guys who can run through some tackles."

Kickoff return candidates include: Mossis Madu, DeMarco Murray and freshmen Roy Finch, Brennan Clay and Trey Franks.

Back to work

Having completed 12 of 24 fall camp practices, the Sooners resume two-a-days today on the rugby fields. OU didn't practice on Sunday, but players watched film of Saturday's scrimmage. This is the final week of two-a-days. Classes begin Aug. 23.

Defensive end Jeremy Beal: "We learned we don't want to go 8-5 again and changed our mentality not to be 8-5 again. You could see it this summer, the way we worked out and the way we've looked in practice. The mentality has changed. It's different."
