Bradford, Gresham earn honorsThe Touchdown Club of Columbus announced Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford and tight end Jermaine Gresham as recipients of the club’s annual honors.
Bradford was the winner of the Chic Harley Award, which goes to the college football player of the year, voted on by a committee of college football offensive and defensive coordinators. Bradford joins previous Sooners Harley Award winners Josh Heupel (2000), Billy Sims (1978) and Steve Owens (1969). Gresham was the club’s tight end of the year. Texas Tech receiver Michael Crabtree, Iowa running back Shonn Greene and offensive lineman Andre Smith of Alabama won the other offensive awards. Each player will be honored during the 54th Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards Banquet on Feb. 7 in Columbus, Ohio.
BRADFORD PLAYER OF THE YEAR FINALISTBradford is one of four nominees for the AT&T All-America Player of the Year award. The other finalists are Texas Tech QB Graham Harrell, Texas QB Colt McCoy and Florida QB Tim Tebow. Fans, who will determine the winner, can vote by sending the text message "vote” to the number 51234. Voting is open until noon Jan. 6. Fans are allowed to vote as many times as they want.
ALLSTATE TAILGATE TOUR TO GIVE AWAY TICKETSSooner fans will have a chance at winning tickets to the BCS National Championship today via the Allstate Tailgate Tour.
