Oklahoma senior cornerback Aaron Colvin, who missed last week's win over Iowa State with an apparent shoulder injury, is set to return to action this weekend at Kansas State, a source close to Colvin told The Oklahoman.
Colvin suffered the injury in the Sooners' 41-12 loss at Baylor earlier this month. He also missed Oklahoma's early season win over Tulsa at home with a different injury.
Colvin has recorded 42 tackles, one sack and one interception so far this season.
IKARD: OU OFFENSE FINE WITH ANY QUARTERBACK
Oklahoma will roll with redshirt freshman Trevor Knight this weekend as its starting quarterback, with sophomore Kendal Thompson serving as his backup while junior Blake Bell recovers from last week's concussion.
Senior center and captain Gabe Ikard said earlier this week he's fine with any of the three quarterbacks playing, because, he said, it doesn't change much for the rest of the offense.
“The offense is the same no matter which quarterback is in there,” Ikard said. “Those three guys are very capable and very talented. We aren't going to change anything because if Blake can't play, he can't play. We have two guys backing him up that are really, really good football players.”
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops won't say whether Bell will play or not, but sources close to the program have confirmed Knight as this weekend's starter.

Nineteen Oklahoma football players were named to the 2013 Academic All-Big 12 team, which was released by the conference Thursday. The Sooners had 11 first-team selections and eight second-team selections.
Ikard and senior defensive back Seth Carter were two of the five Big 12 athletes who carry 4.0 grade-point averages. Ikard is a four-time first-team selection to the league's academic team.
Other first-team members were quarterback Blake Bell, receiver Grant Bothun, defensive back Kass Everett, linebacker Caleb Gastelum, tight end Brannon Green, kicker Nick Hodgson, fullback Trey Millard, defensive back Julian Wilson and offensive lineman Austin Woods.
Second team members from Oklahoma were Colvin, linebacker Aaron Franklin, kicker Michael Hunnicutt, defensive back Cortez Johnson, linebacker P.L. Lindley, receiver Durron Neal, linebacker Londell Taylor and linebacker Eric Striker.
