STOOPS: NEW BLOOD IN CONFERENCE IS TOUGH

Stoops was asked Thursday if it's exciting to see new blood in the Big 12 Conference, referring to this year's additions of TCU and West Virginia.

“No, not as good as they are,” he said with a laugh. “Are you kidding me?”

He said game-planning is tough because, unlike the other conference schools, he's not used to how the new schools play.

“It's tough initially,” he said. “But I'm sure it is for them, too. When you get used to a talent of players and style of play, and what they like to do, it takes a lot of studying. You don't just immediately adjust. It takes a little for both sides because you're not familiar with each other.”
