Punter Tress Way is holding for extra points and field goals this spring.

“I guess (Michael) Hunnicutt went to coach (Bob) Stoops and said he liked having me hold the ball,” Way said. “I practiced through winter workouts and I'm practicing it now. I like it. It's fun. It's different. I know how he likes the ball so I can keep doing it if I need to.”

Is it difficult to catch the ball and turn the laces?

Center Ben Habern, who missed part of last season with a broken forearm, isn't participating in spring drills after undergoing neck surgery. He still has a vocal presence at practice.

“He came back from a broken forearm earlier than he was supposed to,” said offensive tackles/tight ends coach James Patton. “He came back from a broken ankle as a redshirt freshman. He has that toughness. He's fine. He's been working out, running in the training room.
