Oklahoma freshman quarterback Landry Jones has only made five career starts. In two of those, he has earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors.

Jones earned the honor following his performance during a 42-30 victory over Kansas State.

This time, Jones shared the accolade with Texas Tech running back Baron Batch.

Jones completed 26 of 37 passes for 294 yards with four touchdowns and no interceptions as OU put up its highest point total in a month and a half.

"Hopefully, some young receivers in high school are looking at that,” OU coach Bob Stoops said after Monday’s practice.

K-State’s Brandon Banks was named the league’s Special Teams Player of the Week after returning a kick for a touchdown against the Sooners.

Nebraska defensive tackle Jared Crick had 13 tackles and set a school record with five sacks in a 20-10 win over Baylor.

OU takes on Crick and the Cornhuskers this weekend.

WR CALEB DOING BETTER; OG SIMMONS OUT AGAIN
Wide receiver Brandon Caleb is feeling better after injuring his ankle early on in OU’s game with K-State, but his status for Saturday is still questionable.

"He’s coming around,” Stoops said. "Little bit sore. We’ll just see how he goes through the week.”

Stoops said guard Brian Simmons will miss his fourth straight game this weekend due to a knee injury he suffered in the Big 12 opener against Baylor.

NEBRASKA RB ROBINSON EXPECTED TO RETURN
Nebraska coach Bo Pelini said Monday he expects freshman running back Dontrayevous Robinson to be back at practice early in the week after leaving Saturday’s game with an undisclosed injury.

Robinson ran 13 times for 61 yards and a touchdown in the 20-10 win against Baylor. He walked slowly off the field after a 9-yard run in the third quarter and didn’t return.

FSN TO TELEVISE OU-Texas A&M at 6 P.M.
Fox Sports Net has picked up OU’s Nov. 14 home game with Texas A&M.

Kickoff is set for 6 p.m.

QUOTABLE
Landry Jones, when asked if his offensive line was up to the challenge of blocking Nebraska’s heralded defensive front — "I hope they are.”
