OU football picked to win Big 12 title in preseason media poll

NORMAN — Oklahoma has been picked to win the 2012 Big 12 championship in the conference's preseason poll, voted on by media members who cover the league.

OU has won seven Big 12 titles, most recently taking the crown in 2010.

The Sooners received 32 of 41 first-place votes and totaled 396 points. West Virginia, entering its first Big 12 season, earned seven first-place votes.

Texas was third, and defending Big 12 champion Oklahoma State was picked fourth.

Big 12 newcomer TCU was fifth and received a single first-place vote; Kansas State, picked sixth, also garnered one.
