Q: You've made a lot of big kicks, including one recently in the Oil Bowl from 50 yards out. You also made a game-winning extra point for Tulsa Union in last season's regular-season game against Jenks. Has any kick you've made come close to that one?

A: There will never be another one like that one against Jenks. I've been dreaming of that since I was little. I'd been watching that game for as long as I can remember and to be able to make that kick to win that game was unbelievable. Hopefully, though, I'll have a chance for a few more big-time kicks at OU.

Q: What's it been like starting school this summer?

A: It's tough but I love it because I wake up every day a Sooner. I've truly been blessed to be able to be a part of this football team and in the spot I'm in.

Q: How's the competition with Jimmy Stevens for the starting kicker spot going so far? Which one of you is going to start?

A: Right now, we're just both working as hard as we can. I'm just keeping my head down and working as best I can. Hopefully I can play this year but either way, it'll be all right.

Q: What was it like when you first started working out with the team?

A: It was a little intimidating. Those guys are so big and so good and you see them play and all of the sudden you're out there working out with them.

Q: You had quite a cheering section at the Oil Bowl. Who came to watch you play?

A: My teammates were very supportive of me coming down to play in the game. Ben Habern, R.J. Washington, David King and Daniel Franklin all came down to watch the game.

Q: What's class like so far?

A: Not too stressful yet. I'm taking the history of jazz and it seems like the whole football team is in there. We watch movies and do research. Plus, it's at 10:30 so I can sleep in a little bit.

Everybody says college is the best time of your life. It hasn't even started yet and I'm loving it already. It's amazing to be here and be going through this already.
