OU football: Sooners Q&A with Sooners' QB Trevor Knight

This year’s season opener was drastically different for Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight.

The sophomore completed 19-of-34 passes for 253 yards with one touchdown and one interception in the Sooners’ 48-16 victory over Louisiana Tech.

Last year, Knight struggled in the passing game against Louisiana-Monroe in his first career start.

Knight spoke to reporters after the game about the differences between the two season openers, Blake Bell’s first game at tight end and the offense’s overall performance Saturday.

Q: Can you compare your mindset between this game and last year’s opener?

A: Completely different. I’d never been on a college football field before last year’s game, so coming into this year, I had some experience under my belt, kinda knew what to expect. Just went out there and started playing. I felt like our offensive group had a good mindset going into the game. We were playing for one another.

You nearly hit Blake Bell on a touchdown pass tonight. Disappointed you couldn’t get that done?
