NORMAN — Oklahoma quarterback Trevor Knight has had quite a bit of help dealing with the ups and downs of this season.

Knight has gone from starter to backup and now back to starter.

His twin brother, Connor, a walk-on tight end, has been a big help in getting Trevor through the season.

“Always having someone there for me and always having someone to talk to,” Trevor said of the benefits of having Connor around. “He's always taken my success so well. He's had his success in other things, but me being the starting quarterback and all this good stuff, he handles it so well. He's always been there for me.

“It's really been a blessing.”

It hasn't been an easy year though.

Trevor has made a point — at the suggestion of co-offensive coordinator Josh Heupel — of staying away from social media and other places where he might see criticism of his play.

“I believe I'm a pretty strong-willed person and won't let it get to me, but you don't want stuff that can come off negative getting into your mind,” Trevor said.

Trevor has had plenty of successes this season — earning the starting job initially, running for more than 100 yards in his debut, a big run at Notre Dame and the win at Kansas State among others. His favorite moment so far, though, came in the Sooners big loss at Baylor.
