OU football: Trevor Knight hopes to carry Sugar Bowl momentum into next season

After its 45-31 Sugar Bowl upset of Alabama, OU is considered by many to be a legitimate national championship contender in 2014.

“No, not at all. We’ve got a great group of guys coming in. The young guys have been doing a great job. You can’t replace a Brennan Clay or Roy Finch or Damien Williams. They’re great players, and you hate to see them go, but you love to see the new guys step up into that role and see what they can do.”

What do you like about running back Keith Ford?

“He works really hard. He’s got a hard nose when he runs the ball, obviously, very physical. He comes to work every single day and tries to be the best player he possibly can.”

What are the expectations for next season?

“At a school like Oklahoma, the national championship is always your goal, and anything less is kind of a disappointment. We’re chasing that. We’ve just gotta work as hard as we can every single day and take one day at a time.”
