NORMAN — Redshirt freshman Michael Hunnicutt, from Richardson, Texas, kicked one field goal and one extra point in the season opener against Tulsa, but he was the only kicker coach Bob Stoops used Saturday night against Missouri. Hunnicutt was perfect, converting a 26-yard field goal and going 5-for-5 on extra points.

Q: What did tonight's game do for your confidence?

A: I've been practicing hard in case a situation like this ever arose. You never know when your time may come. Having a freshman year to redshirt really helped my confidence a lot. It obviously is a different atmosphere than high school.

How have you been kicking the past couple of months since two-a-days began?

I've been hitting it really good. It felt good for that first (field goal) to go through the uprights.

Were you recruited by other schools?

Hawaii, Memphis and some other Conference USA schools offered me. I could have walked on a lot of different places.
