OU linebacker Travis Lewis named a semifinalists for Butkus Award

University of Oklahoma linebacker Travis Lewis was named a semifinalist for Butkus Award, given annually to the top linebacker in college football.

Lewis is the leading tackler for the 6-0 Sooners, the top-rated team in the first BCS standings. He has 59 tackles and one interception.

Lewis and his teammates are at Missouri this weekend for a nationally televised matchup with the Tigers, who also are 6-0.

The other semifinalists for the award are Akeem Ayers (UCLA), Bruce Carter (North Carolina), Mason Foster (Washington), Mario Harvey (Marshall), Dont'a Hightower (Alabama), Justin Houston (Georgia), Nate Irving (North Carolina State), Greg Jones (Michigan State), Luke Kuechly (Boston College), Casey Matthews (Oregon), Von Miller (Texas A&M), Kennan Robinson (Texas), Sean Spence (Miami, Fla.), Manti Te'o (Notre Dame).
