Oklahoma released its non-conference men’s basketball schedule, which includes five neutral-site games at NBA arenas, on Monday.

The Sooners will start the season with a pair of home exhibition games against Washburn (Nov. 2) and Oklahoma Christian (Nov. 4).

The schedule includes eight other home non-conference games, including Tulsa on Dec. 14.

Oklahoma hasn’t played the Golden Hurricane since 2008-09. The Sooners lead the series 28-11 and have won 12 of the last 13 meetings.

Other home opponents include North Texas, Idaho, Mercer, Arkansas-Little Rock, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas-Arlington and Louisiana Tech.

“With so many new guys, a lot of games at home early is a benefit,” Sooners coach Lon Kruger said in a release. “You still have to play well and take care of business in those, but hopefully we’ll be able to gain some momentum and confidence from that part of the schedule.”

Mercer is coached by former Sooners assistant Bob Hoffman, who also played and coached at Oklahoma Baptist.

Oklahoma will play a pair of SEC opponents at neutral sites–Alabama on Nov. 8 at American Airlines Center in Dallas and Texas A&M on Dec. 21 at the Toyota Center in Houston.

The Sooners will also play a pair of games in Brooklyn’s Barclays Center in the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic on Nov. 22-23. Michigan State, Seton Hall and Virginia Tech are also playing in the event.

The Sooners will also play George Mason on Dec. 8 at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., as part of the BB&T Classic.

The Big 12 schedule will be released later this month.

Oklahoma leaves for a 10-day trip to France and Belgium on Tuesday.
