The Sooners conducted a 100-play scrimmage Thursday morning, the second and final major scrimmage. One highlight was Brennan Clay scoring on a 70-yard run.

On a toss play, Clay cut outside and made a move on safety Javon Harris.

"I tight-roped the sideline, and I kept going," Clay said. "It's one of those situations you fall at the 1, or you go ahead and score. I wasn't sure, so I ran it on in.

"It shows the offense is working well together. One thing we need to work on is being able to run and not go sideways, get vertical. That's one of the biggest things that's really going to help us this year."

"You have your experience here, and you have it for life," Stoops said. "You earn your degree hopefully, and you come back 20 or 30 years from now with your family and show them around. You're always a part of it. Or you choose not to be.

"At the end of the day, what I'm also willing to tell them is if you don't want to be here there are 1,000 kids out there that want to be in this (meeting room) chair. If you choose not to (follow the rules), you live with the consequences."
