According to a report in the Miami Herald, Dolphin Stadium officials informed the University of Miami that it must reschedule next season’s Sept. 12 game with Oklahoma, as the Florida Marlins are booked for a home series that weekend.
Miami athletic director Kirby Hocutt
told the Herald that he expects to find another 2009 date for the Sooners at Dolphin Stadium.
Wide receiver Manny Johnson
(elbow) and tight end Brody Eldridge
(ankle) didn’t play against Kansas State, but are expected to return against Nebraska, putting the Sooners at or near 100 percent (excluding Ryan Reynolds, of course).
"I don’t see anything right now that’s very significant,” said OU coach Bob Stoops.
Eldridge suited out Saturday, but was held out, costing him an opportunity to play in his home state. Eldridge is from Le Cygne, Kan. Eldridge also missed the previous week’s game against Kansas.
"It was a tough deal for Brody,” said offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson.
"He’s a tough player and a prideful man. He gets two chances in his career to play against Kansas and Kansas State with rotation of the league.
"He’s missed an opportunity, and it’s unfortunate for him.
