/> Alexander, a senior, and two others were arrested at 2:10 a.m. Sunday. Alexander was charged with disturbing the peace and interference with official process, both misdemeanors. He told the Oklahoma Daily, OU's student newspaper, that he was trying to stop an altercation between Jared Scelfo, a passenger in the car he was driving, and James Wheeler, who stepped in front of the car, starting a verbal exchange.

"(Wheeler) walked in front of my car, and he said some words," Alexander told the paper. "My friend got out of the car, and I was stopping him before he did something stupid. And the cops put us down on the ground and put us in jail."

Norman police captain J.D. Younger told the paper he believed Wheeler instigated the confrontation.

• OU-MU time set: The Sooners' Oct. 28 game at Missouri has been set for an 11 a.m. kickoff.

The contest will be televised by ABC (Cox 8).

Tickets available: A limited number of tickets remain for OU's game Saturday against Colorado.

The game marks OU's homecoming, with festivities planned to recognize the 1956 national championship team, as well as Prentice Gautt, a member of that team and the program's first black player.
