/> •Smith in a boot: Injured Sooner cornerback Reggie Smith hobbled off the plane wearing a protective boot on his right foot.

Smith broke his big toe in the Big 12 Championship game against Missouri and is expected to miss the Fiesta Bowl.

•Wolfe's hair a hit: Local media and fans are used to D.J. Wolfe's stylish Mohawk, which he has sported all year. But members of the Arizona media were taken aback by Wolfe's unique haircut.

"It's just something a few of us guys came up with this summer,” Wolfe said. "It's been a little tradition with the DBs. Reggie and some of the other guys gave it up. I wanted to prolong it. It has been working so far.”

White OK: Quarterback Pat White, who suffered a dislocated thumb in West Virginia's devastating loss to Pittsburgh on Dec. 1, is healed for the Fiesta Bowl, interim Mountaineer coach Bill Stewart said. "He's good to go,” Stewart said.

•Out on the town? Stewart said don't count on the Mountaineers running wild at night despite the interim status of the West Virginia coaching staff.

"These guys are not going to be running the streets,” Stewart said. "I can promise you that. We know them. They know us. It's going to be business at hand.”
