Will OSU be able to run on the sooners?
Columnist Berry Tramel and OU beat writer John Helsley debate an issue on OU football.

Berry Tramel: I don’t think the Cowboys will be able to run on the Sooners. OSU might score a bunch in Bedlam, but I think it will have to come through the air.

John Helsley: The Sooners have done well bottling up enemy rushers this season. But who’s the best back they’ve faced, Jake Sharp? Kendall Hunter is on a whole different level — the elite level. He’ll get his.

Tramel: I don’t see it. OU historically stuffs the run, and this year is no different. Texas reeled off two big runs late, and Nebraska piled up some yards after the game was out of hand. But the way to beat OU is through the air. Zac Robinson’s passing, not Kendall Hunter’s running.

Helsley: The Sooners have stuffed the run this year because nobody else in the league — beyond the Bedlam squads — can run it a lick. OSU’s threat through the air will help create some seams for Hunter. And a seam is all he needs.

Tramel: If anyone can do it, it’s Hunter. But the Sooners are just too strong up front. Powerful in the interior, speedy on the outside. Throwing is the ticket for OSU.

Helsley: Texas, not the Sooners, boasts the league’s top rushing defense. And OU knows all about that. Hunter went for 161 on the Horns. He’ll find room today, too.
