— A suspended University of Oklahoma professor was formally charged Monday with rape and other sex crimes involving teenage girls.

According to court documents, Dwain Pellebon was arraigned on two counts of rape, two counts of lewd acts with a child and two counts of child sexual abuse.

Authorities arrested Pellebon, 54, last week after receiving allegations that the social work professor had sexually abused at least two teenage girls in the past two years.

Pellebon has denied any inappropriate behavior with the girls.

Search warrant affidavits show that authorities were alerted by a child welfare worker out of McClain County.

A state Department of Human Services worker told Norman police that a 13-year-old reported seeing Pellebon fondle another 13-year-old during a sleepover at the suspect's Norman home, according to a search warrant affidavit.

The girl was interviewed by police last week, telling investigators she woke up in Pellebon's residence at least twice, with the suspect lying behind her and touching her “from her hair to her ankles,” according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday in district court.

Records show the alleged abuse of the girl began when she was 11.

The McClain County worker also told police she believed Pellebon had abused a mentally disabled 15-year-old girl, who has shown “recent sexualized behavior,” the affidavit states.

The 15-year-old girl told police Pellebon had raped her at least twice, once in 2010 and once this past summer.

The girl also said the suspect would frequently remove her from bed, strip off her clothes and display her on a bed for viewing.
