Chris, I was never a stripper. Where did that even come from? How did the Red Dog come up? I have been there, but never worked there. I said I was a bartender for a couple of years. Not a stripper. I only went home with one guy in the 2 years I bartended, and that is the daddy of my son, who is currently my boyfriend and has been since June of 2000.

I used to do cocaine, a lot, before I got pregnant. I have never denied that to anyone. So you can think what you want, but I have been to treatment and stayed clean, thank God. I haven’t used in a long time. You try to talk bad about my reputation, like I’m a skanky slut and I’m nasty and I’m ugly. You know, I have never denied my shortcomings to anyone, but you don’t know me and you don’t know what I have done in my life. I’m proud of everything that I am, and the kind of mother I am. I am a hard worker, and I’m loyal, and I’m the best friend anyone could have.

Bartending isn’t a respectful job? It’s dangerous, I admit that. But I earned money without taking my clothes off, and without giving head in the bathroom, and for that I deserve to be proud. I raised my son to be a smart, cute, funny little boy, and he’s healthy and happy as can be. I worked hard for my money, and I didn’t take handouts from the government. I have always provided for my child without complaining. My hats off to you, as you’re obviously a much better person than I.
Raven, Edmond's Ghetto (Guthrie) - Nov 3, 2009 at 11:41 am
Its not a respectful job. Its a job that can come back and bite you in the rear. Its a job for crackheads addicted to drugs or future prostitutes. Check the studies. It is good money I guess. However, you have to have no class to do it. And the Red Dog Saloon, I have heard about that place. Not good things. My buddy took one of them home one night. It might have been you.

I like OSU when they’re not playing OU as well…

Chris, it might not be a winning profession to you but I did it for extra money. We could make $200-$300 in a 6 hour shift on a normal night. What is wrong with that? You’re just acting like an idiot now. $600 a weekend buys a lot of diapers and formula, on top of my regular paycheck. I wasn’t on welfare or food stamps or WIC or any of that freeloader crap. I would say bartender was a winning profession for me. And for Christ’s sake, I didn’t get pregnant in high school.
Raven, Edmond's Ghetto (Guthrie) - Nov 3, 2009 at 9:47 am
Oh my, you danced at the Red Dog saloon. Thats where all the skanky strippers danced at. Man, just keep making yourself look bad. Stripping, thats a well respected position to hold. Druggies and prostitutes do that type of job. Which one are you.

Raven I Like your offer but I am a O.U. person, but I look at teams as who and what there about and not the hype people try to stir up. When O.S.U. is not playing O.U. I back them. My brother is a big O.S.U fan but we donot but each others team down.

Mike, if I didn't have a boyfriend I'd ask you out. If you have Bedlam tix, I might ask you out anyway. ;) LOL

One time when I was a bartender, back in 2003 or 2004 I believe, Nebraska played OU in Norman and a bunch of cute guys in Cornhuskers gear came in to the bar...I got all psycho and said I couldn't serve them. So my backup Josh helped them and then they turned out to be really cool and we started talking and it was surprisingly a great night. I was super busy when they came in and I didn't want to mess with them...but it turned out well. That was the end of my days as an OU b|tch. Yes I used to be one. I'm ready for Saturday. :)

Hope i catch the traffic lights jist right bewteen Santa Fe and Bryant so as that journey doesn't take eight hours. If in tomorrow's paper you read of a middle aged caucasian male losing his mind and perpetrating multiple homicides occuring is various road rage incidents between Santa Fe and Bryant--you'll know i didn't catch the lights quite right.

When Sam was a redshirt freshman--these are the guys Sam had blocking for him--Duke, Phil, Jon, Trent, Broady and someone else (?). These are the guys Sam had the luxury of throwing the ball to-- Malcolm, Juaquin, Manny, Jermaine and Joe Jon Finley. Not to take anything away from any of the current OU players, but I think it would be fair to say Landry hasn't exactly been dealt the same hand and yet has done an excellent job as Kevin Wilson has had to morph the offense in trying to figure out what this offensive line and receivers can actually do from week to week. From my perspective, Landry has done every bit the job Sam did in his freshman redshirt season and in very difficult circumstances. Keep in mind, we did lose three games that year... at Colorado, at Tech and against West Virginia in the Fiesta Bowl. Not to ever take anything away from Sam, but at some point, give Kevin Wilson and Josh Heupel a ton of credit for what they do with QB's in the OU system under Stoops.

Here's one OSU fan who has a growing respect and appreciation for Landry. This dude is handling everything well. He doesn't get his head down and pout when he makes a mistake or just misses a throw. He's not worried that he isn't Sam Bradford. He may not blow the other team away and lead the Sooners but he knows he doesn't have to. He doesn't make many glaring mistakes and he doesn't get all fake excited like a lot of young QB's would in his shoes. I think part of that goes to Josh Heupel who is doing a masterful job with him, but it also says a lot about this kid. He's going to be a pretty darn good Big 12 QB the next couple years. He really looks like he has every bit the NFL arm that Bradford has. OU is not hurting at this position. Lastly, 9 out of 10 kids his age would have shaved that pathetic 'stache as soon as people laughed at it and the newspaper and TV people commented on it, but Landry is keeping it real. Good for him.

Guthrie is an awesome place and I believe a scene from the movie 'The Rainman' was shot there. I live out here in Deer Creek and would much rather live in Deer Creek or Guthrie than in Edmond. There is a pieceful ambience existent in both which is lacking in Edmond.Edmond is greatly overrated unless you're some sick f--cker control freak type who gets off on stopping at all those seemingly never ending stop lights. If you've ever had a child involved in little league sports in Edmond... you'd also know to avoid the place like the plague. I do enjoy going to Othello's ever so often though. Seriously--who is the person responsible for all the traffic lights in Edmond? It's pathetic. It's takes thirty minutes to go about two miles once you're in Edmond proper.

BTW...for whatever it's worth...I'd much rather have Raven on here sharing her sports knowledge with us than reading anymore of Jen Carlson's columns. I'm done with Jen Carlson and her columns as of last week and her buildup of the Game of the Century in Stillwater. I can't take anymore.

Good for Landry Jones! He's having an excellent year for being a redshirt freshman and I look forward to seeing him become the Big 12's best QB next season and maybe a Heisman canidate in his own right before all is said and done.

There is nothing about Guthrie worth talking about. It is ready to dry up and blow away. There is nothing there but their talk about being something important a 100 years ago, and that's how old Guthrie looks. The only thing to remember about Raven is when she danced at the Red Dog Saloon. Guthrie is a ghetto and Raven is the queen of that ghetto.

I would like to take my hat off to the OU coaches and players. We are showing improvement weekly and we have a great chance to finish the season up with 4 straight wins. If so, I would rate this as Stoop's 2nd best coaching job since he has been in Norman. This team has been thru alot and thank God we have a great coach like Stoops. Bill Synder is also a great coach. He always gives us fits when we play him. He is an excellent coach that is going to get things done if he sticks around Manhattan for a few years. Also, great job by Landry Jones. He is a fine looking young qb and the future looks great for Oklahoma football. Let's go eat some corn at 7:00 this Saturday evening.
Brian, Bixby - Nov 2, 2009 at 4:04 pm
Interesting John...what do you love about Guthrie?

I also love Guthrie. I changed it back in the day when some Edmondites were being d-bags. Guthrie has some awesome history. We were just talking about it…especially around Halloween. Edmondites are just scared of Guthrie because they know if they come to Guthrie, the evil spirits will follow them home to Edmond and haunt them forever…

Oh God is it 5:00 yet?
Raven, Edmond's Ghetto (Guthrie) - Nov 2, 2009 at 2:48 pm
Stoolwater. Never thought of that before, but quite appropriate for what we saw Saturday night. The cowboys, the coaches, and the fans stunk it up. Hey T. Boone: Got your monies worth yet? Perhaps, one of your new renewable energy resources should be STOOLWATER. You already have a massive collection center, T. BOONE PICKENS stadium.
Xavier, Benson - Nov 2, 2009 at 2:42 pm
Raven, you shouldn't refer to Guthrie as Edmond's ghetto. I LOVE Guthrie! Just think of Guthrie as the cool place that the Edmond people aren't cultured enough to live in... LOL (No offense Edmondites)

KSU is now in the rearview mirror, and we look forward to playing the "other" Big Red - Nebraska. I thought they were going to be a really good team this year, but the wheels seem to have fallen off their bus.

Well I do count Big 12 Championship games as big games. Especially because half the time you have to win it to get in the NC (except for that one time!) I mean a couple years ago OU had to beat #1 Missouri in that game. And the same goes for the SEC champ game. Are you telling me that UF-Bama is not a big game? Those people have "big game" confused with "bowl game". If you mean bowl game, just say so. Those people are nuts

John - some of us do. :oÞ

hehehe j/k of course.

I was ready for OSU to rise up and kick some Bevo booty...

I admit though, while I was out with the kids trick-or-treating, I kept getting updates on the score...then after it had been 28-6 for so long I just quit asking. Imagine my surprise when I came home and the boys updated me that the score was 28-23. Pretty sure I nearly had heart failure. I was glued to the television for the last quarter…and for a second, I was even kicking myself for not letting my 1st grader go trick-or-treating without me. (Not really of course.) What is it the “other team” says? A W is a W? Amen.
Raven, Edmond's Ghetto (Guthrie) - Nov 2, 2009 at 2:19 pm

Would have been more if Stoops hadn't laid them down on the last possession so he wouldn't hurt ole Bill Snyder's feelings. The coaching was once again, pathetic. We have a great "hurry up offense" don't we? Get them up to the line real fast and then back them out while the coaches on the sidelines change the play. Anybody else tired of watching this masquerade party?
