Coach Bob Stoops
"The one turnover really that killed us was the one that gave them the ball at the 1 or 2-yard line, and they end up scoring the one touchdown that was the difference in the game. Again, they did the job they needed to and we didn’t.”

Linebacker Ryan Reynolds
"It’s just frustrating, not just as a defense, but as a team. Sometimes the offense is making plays and we’re not making plays. Just working together as a unit, it’s frustrating not to come out with a victory.”

So Bob, by saying that, it makes it OK, and just go on to next week. NOT! Maybe the DO is scared to write the truth, and scared to ask the tough questions, but we aren't. Your coaching
has been pitiful the last 5-6 seasons. You have embarrassed all the Sooner Nation with
poor performance's and lack of accountability. You've taken the program back to near
where it was when you started. It maybe time to take the money and run and go hide behind
the AD's skirt or Boren's.

You are joking, right? That is the best a man making 3 million a year can come up with? I think that is rather obvious, now isn't it? Come on, tell me you are joking, please? Bets are, Stoops and his assistants get a raise after the season is over. Venables deserves a raise. He and his crew are carrying the rest of the coaching staff. Stoops ought to work for free next year to make up for this train wreck.

The year the Sooners won the NC - I don't recall any major injuries... I recall different players making big plays that won games...I don't recall having that feeling we got outcoached. These Sooners are not THAT far away from being very good, but for whatever reason - this year's Sooners simply don't have IT.

Geeezzz. I don't know what was more embarrassing. An offense that looked like they have never practiced, or a head coach that looked as lost as his qb did. HEY STOOPS, didn't you tell the players they needed to make football a priority when you got here in 99? Maybe you need to do the same. Maybe you could have Carol drop the kids off at school from now on so you can get to the office a little earlier and start earning some of that money you get. You are quickly replacing grandpa bowden as the laughing stock of college football.

Did you guys forget already? WE PLAYED IN THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP LAST YEAR!! What more do you want? If you guys think we should fire Stoops, WHY DON"T YOU COACH!!!
Natalie - Nov 8, 2009 at 4:58 pm
Very poor play calling by the COACHES was the turnover that lost the game for the Sooners. Praising the duo of Brown and Murray, but not haveing faith in them to carry the ball to the endzone in the 4th quarter was ridiculous. With 10 minutes left they ran 8 passes, 5 incomplete and one run of 3 yards. Landry´s arm was tired tossing more than 50 passes which affected his accuracy. Brown and Murray had too few tries to be very exhausted. 3 yards, 3 tries in succession is 9 yards. The coaches don´t believe their running backs can gain 10 yards in 3 tries??? I´m really surprised the offensive team didn´t call a time out to ask the coaches, ¨what´s the matter with you?¨

The reason we have never had a decent field goal kicker is because Mr. Stoops has a policy that he won't use a scholarship for a kicker. I guess he doesn't think field goals can win or lose a game.

We lost because of predictable offensive calls. We lost because of a poor offensive line. Field goals shouldn't be the subject here. This offense with two terrific running backs should play to score touch downs. And Bob Stoops has very good job security. Almost ten million people jobless and Bob gets $3 million for poor coaching and poor staff management. I guess Bob and Obama(meaningless Nobel Peace Prize)are untouchable.

Jerry - just because a team plays poorly and someone is not afraid to call out a player or coach, for either poor play or poor play calling, does not make them a "fairweather"(sic) fan.

great photo of tennell. perfect pass hits him in the helmet. does he need glasses because he cant catch a cold buttnaked in an alaskan winter. tennell must have blackmail material on someone on the coachign staff, because that would be the only reason why this guy continues to see playing time. i've seen better receivers at the juco level than tennell. i've never seen a guy at the end of the season have more drops than receptions until tennell came along.
kevin, commerce - Nov 8, 2009 at 10:31 am
Why don't you guys point out the real reason we lost? Despite five interceptions we missed THREE freakin' field goals! Give us those and we win the game! Our kickers SUCK! They have one job to do and they probably kick a hundred of them every day but come game time they choke! Now to Jones. Yes he had a terrible day, but then again every quarterback will from time to time. He's only a freshman playing on the road against a very solid defense, in one of the most hostile environments in college football, with a pathetic offensive line and only one real playmaker at wide receiver. During Bradfords freshman year he had veteran receivers who are now in the NFL, the best Tight End in the nation and a much better offensive line. Just be patient and hopefully he'll continue to improve and next year will be our year. But as far as kickers go they are just pathetic and theres no fixing that.

O.U. pays BOB STOOPS $3.m dollars annually and all he can say is "they did the job they needed to AND WE didn't.. PEOPLE BOB STOOPS is telling you all that he can't get the JOB done..."HELLO" You pay someone that kind of money and this is what we get... I predicted a score of 45 - 3, but I'll take the 10 - 3

First off I am an alumni of OU. I am a fan. Always have been. Always will be. With that said...

Hmm....
1. Losing to Texas in regular fashion
2. Losing Bowl games in regular fashion
3. Beating a 3/4 loss team in what the Big 12 calls a championship
4. Looking down a potential 5 loss season this year. Maybe more?

When someone criticizes Kevin Wilson or another OU coach, Stoops points to the sucecess the coach had last year. When asked about the TEAM he says that every year is a new deal. You can't have it both ways. The TEAM is the coaches and the players.

The coaches recruited the players.

Sadly, the Nebraska game went about as I expected it too.

Stoops says that coaches are in a job that everyone thinks they can do better. News flash.. Coaches are not unique! Just about every job is that way. The main difference, in those other jobs we are not getting paid 3 million plus to do it!

This state doesn't have much. The one thing it has is OU football. That is why people are so upset.

C'mon coaches. Get this thing turned around.

What a tired, tired performance by Jones. 5 freaking interceptions is ridiculous. The defense played outstanding as usual but got no help, again. The OL does blow - with all the stupid penalties. Tress Way is a joke - I mean you know he's going to miss when they are linig up to kick. The nightmare continues. 5-4 through nine games is sick - having now lost 4 games by a combined 12 points.

Jake, if you're going to list quotes, couldn't you put a little more into it? Two quotes and out seems like lazy reporting.

Ive been a supporter of Stoops through all of these ups/downs, but my gosh this has got to stop. Seriously... How many games are we going to make excuses and look un-prepared?

Hate to say it... But it may be time for some serious changes in Norman....

Blake Bell is the real deal, gang. That being said, they keep "preparing" their o-line like this and they could have vintage Vince Young back there and never win a game. This o-line is beyond awful. That and no skill guys (exempting 85 and 24) and that is a BAD MIX. Yuck, yuck and more yuck!

Bull! The difference in the game was the QB throwing ALL "5" interceptions and a replacement kicker (whoever decided that should be punched) not making the three field goals that would have won the game. We didn't "do the job" because of your horrendous offensive play calling and coaching. The defense did their job - and then some, so hats off to those outstanding young men!

I hope, Coach Stoops, that you have some better QB prospects for next year, because Landry Jones can't seem to play on the college level - freshman or not.

Janice, Oklahoma City - Nov 8, 2009 at 1:16 am
Geez, Bob. You think? How does it feel to be completely out-coached...again. Offense had no answers all night. As soon as we'd start moving we'd get a penalty, as stupid one after the play, or a pick or a horridly thrown ball. Terrible offensive football team. No adjustments offensively, yet again. Coaching, coaching, coaching.

Bob, if you don't fire someone, maybe Joe C. should fire you. I admire what you've done in resurrecting this team, but the program took three steps backward tonight. Very discouraging.
