ARDMORE — University of Oklahoma men’s basketball coach Jeff Capel received a $450,000 raise, from $1.05 million to $1.5 million, when the OU Board of Regents on Wednesday approved a series of coaches’ contracts for fiscal year 2010 at its meeting.

Capel’s base salary ($250,000) and additional pay for personal services and fundraising ($1.25 million) do not include two "stay bonuses” that could mean another $1.5 million by 2016.

Football coach Bob Stoops will earn $2,925,000 in base services and personal services compensation. He will be due a $700,000 stay bonus on Oct. 1.

Women’s basketball coach Sherri Coale will receive $900,000 — a raise of $60,000 — from her base salary of $250,000 and additional compensation of $650,000.
