Sophomore wide receiver and New Jersey sprint champion is a great sidekick to Broyles.

Halloween costume — A

Man was a dead-ringer for Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz. "Dude looked like a lady."

KSU coach Bill Snyder — A+

The man still has the magic touch. Shows bag of tricks on Halloween night.

Mother Nature — A

Temperature was 72 degrees at kickoff, 55 degrees at the final gun on last day of October.

OU defense — C

Allowed 6.1 yards-per-play. Good thing the OU offense showed up to help seal the victory.

I'm glad you're pleased with a win. Even horrid execution against a vastly out-manned opponent. Congrats. I have standards and expectations of this team. The coaches talk about it all the time. When you win a championship, you set the bar pretty high. You can't seriously just be satisfied with an underwhelming "w" can you?

As of today 11-2-09, the highest rated Second place team in the Big-12 is rated #21,
according to Sagarin or #20 in the other. Oklahoma. The highest rated Second place team
in the SEC is rated #11 in Sagarin or ? in the other, LSU. The highest rated Second place team in the PAC-10 is rated #9 in Sagarin or ? in the other, USC. Can OU say "A$$ WHOOP'IN" if
they play them in a bowl.

Terry; If it were not for the 80,000 $79 tickets (and some higher) along with the inflated hot dog and soda pop prices, they wouldn't be able to anti up the $ millions for the coaches.

Hey Chris OU won!! What part of that do you not understand.
Brian, Tallahassee - Nov 2, 2009 at 8:39 am
Richard, where was contain? That's all I want to know. How in the name of everything holy, do we manage to lose FRIGGIN CONTAIN on a POWER PLAY? Very undisciplined D all night long. That speaks to coaching. It looked like the defensive coaches had been the players' fat little girlfriends all week. They didn't play with the same ferocity that they did in Dallas or Lawrence. They looked like they thought they were much better than they actually are.

Newsflash, we play like this in Miami or Dallas defensively, and the games won't even be close. Yeah, getting a "w" is nice, but c'mon. Watch what the defensive unit DID. They did a whole lot of jack squat on third down. Get off the field and we roll em by 50. Give em chances and life and you get a dog fight. This one is squarely on the defense. Nice work, Brent. Snyder owned you again. With horrid talent.

You dimwits bashing our coaches and players can kiss my pooper.
Jerry, Atlanta - Nov 2, 2009 at 7:35 am
you are right Patrick, sorry about the tard comment.
Britton, Edmond - Nov 1, 2009 at 9:50 pm
Chris what game were you watching? OU won!!! The offense has some really good drives (that is also due to play calling). The defense came up with some big stops. Take out the kick off return for a touchdown and OU's offense still outperformed the KSU O and the OU defense did the same. I would have gladly accepted the performance and out come of this game both times in Dallas and again in Miami. I thought OU showed alot of guts by not folding, especially after the td got called back and OU faced first and 45...and still called...whihc I thing WIlson deserves some credit for as does Venebles for dialing up sopme defenses that made some key plays and for the third week in a row played with a ferocity that had been missing the last couple of years.

Better effort from the O-line Saturday. Hopefully they will continue to improve. I am not sure coaching was in issue in the 2nd half. Players have to execute and remain motivated. At times football can be game of momentum, no matter the atheletes on the field. Snyder is a decent coach no matter he is a workaholic. He did a great job up in Manhatten to bring that program around. Of course scholarship limitiations continues to make college football more even as the years go by. A win is a win and OU won and did not choke. Its one game at a time from here on out. Its too bad OSU tanked it against the shorthorns as I dont see them losing again with the possible upset by A&M. All I want is improvement in that line as that is where games are won and lost. Jones is the qb of the future and the wr's are starting to click, Demarco is back looked solid, great effort and yes the D did get lax which does happen at times. If the effort is there I can be satisfied with players and coaches. The loses with the exception of Texas the effort was clearly lacking in at leat the offensive line. My parting shot is that college atheletics are getting way too over prices, the cost for a single ticket to that game was $79 which is WAY, WAY overpriced for college. I refuse to pay that nor will I ever pay that kind of money to watch a ball game, its just way out of line and its raping the public.
Terry, Norman - Nov 1, 2009 at 9:09 pm
Britton I was just stating mere fact. It has nothing to do with being a fan of any team. I realize that you are only 12 and don't remember us winning many bowl games, but we did, and they are cyclical(I know, I know, too tough a word for you). You also could have used a better team in your example besides the one we took apart last year. For Sooner fans, the only BCS games that truly matter are the ones for the big trophy, and in those games, we've "had our head handed to us" just once. The other 4 could have gone either way. One last bit of advice, you can get your point across without having to resort to name calling. That is something that people do only on the internet, because I'm pretty sure you don't go around calling people names that you don't know. That is unless your mom was a crack head and didn't really care how you were raised.
Patrick, Fayetteville - Nov 1, 2009 at 7:47 pm
Come on guys, a victory is a victory. We aren't going to blow out every team. Offensively, they did much better minus the penalties.

Patrick, don't be a retard. We would be favored on a neutral field by Vegas and then have our heads handed to us by Cinncy or some other. It's called losing BCS games. I'm a huge fan but you can't sit there rubbing your hands together mumbling "ok, we have three losses but we can still get in if...."
Britton, Edmond - Nov 1, 2009 at 1:48 pm
Agreed, Robert. With everything. We got out-coached yet again. How many times is this gonna happen? That game should have been OVER at half. Period. Then we come out of the gate in the second half without any semblance of a defense and our offense in neutral. Where was the high octane, fast break offense from the first half? This broken record is really getting old. Offensive and defensive schemes were crap. That being said, Broyles IS the MAN and I did like the added wrinkle of the fly sweep to 85. That was all I liked about the overall game plan offensively. Very generic after the quick start. Defensively, we may as well have not even prepared this week. We apparently just wasted five days of practice. Definitely did not improve this week.

Good thing our Jimmys and Joes were better than theirs. Our Xs and Os were definitely NOT.
Chris, Hesston - Nov 1, 2009 at 12:18 pm
Patrick, forgive Jo. He's a disgruntled OSU fan. He has trouble seeing to type this morning through all of his tears. You see, "this" was supposed to be "next year" for the aggie faithfull. Sad, so sad.
synker, Scottsdale - Nov 1, 2009 at 10:10 am
What's wrong Rhode, you getting soft in your old age or should that read achohol induced stupors?

Defense - F.
I haven't seen so many busts since I dont' know when. Oh yeah, I remember. That would be last year and the year before and the year before. Total lack of discipline. Apparently players listening to their fat little girlfriends isn't just a Tech problem.

Coaching F.
No adjustments during the 2nd half to counter KState's halftime adjustments. No close out/killer instinct - Predictable play calling the entire 2nd half. Murray was lucky to score on that swing pass. It should have been a loss or at best a no gain considering the play was telegraphed to everyone in the stadium except apparently the KState defense.

Yes it was a win as it should have been, but it exposed the weaknesses of the team and coaching staff, again.
Robert, Dallas - Nov 1, 2009 at 9:59 am
Is this supposed to be journalism? Maybe you missed it, but there were other things going on last night besides costumes and weather inside Memorial Stadium, John: football. Try grading that next time.
James, Edmond - Nov 1, 2009 at 8:47 am
Jo the genius, in reference to our rankings. According to the oddsmakers in Vegas only Florida, Alabama, and Texas would be favored against us on a neutral field. We'd be favored by Vegas in a matchup against anyone else in the country on a neutral field. Pretty pathetic when a team with 3 losses is actually the 4th best team in the Country. How's that for being "ranked down where they need to be."
Patrick, Fayetteville - Nov 1, 2009 at 8:14 am
Defense is slowly going away, again. How many years does this make in a row. At least OU
is ranked down where they need to be.

Stop doing these grades, unless you can become serious. They have been a complete joke lately! Do not confuse silly with clever!
