The redshirt sophomore was initially ticketed in September 2010 for driving without a license, according to Cleveland County's courts database. He missed the April 29 court date to fight the charge and a warrant was issued May 13 for his failure to appear or pay the fines owed.

The 6-foot, 200-pound Miller was arrested at 9:58 p.m. Thursday at 750 Lindsey St., near the western fringe of OU's campus. He posted bond and was released from jail at 9:27 a.m. Friday.

After practice Tuesday, OU coach Bob Stoops confirmed the incident but downplayed its significance.

"For having a suspended license or something?" Stoops said. "I don't suspend guys for traffic tickets. That probably goes way back to Brandon Everage."

The season begins Sept. 3 against Tulsa. Miller is one of several running backs — along with Brennan Clay, Roy Finch and Brandon Williams — trying to earn carries. Given the number of snaps the preseason No. 1 Sooners intend to take, Stoops has indicated all of the backs will get some time.

On Monday, Stoops was complimentary of Miller, who is returning from a knee injury that cost him part of his freshman season and all of 2010. Miller rushed for 130 yards on 18 carries as a freshman, prior to the injury. Eighty-eight of those yards, and his only career touchdown, came in a game against Idaho State.
